Ramble On 16 x 20 gallery wrapped canvas, oil

Ramblin' On 16 x 20 original oil on gallery wrapped canvas

Just ramblin' on is the theme of this colorful equine painting. Where's he headed or where has he been? You decide as you gaze on the mix of warm and cool colors and deep shadows and highlights on the horses body.

I enclosed a close up so you can see the thick paint and bold brush strokes.

I painted this today on a textured board with quick, expressive brushstrokes and lively colors. I came up with the title Flame because the flickering of the mane and forelock in the sun reminded me of a flame.

This is 11 x 14 on hardboard in oils in a black wooden frame.

Abstract Horse Art.. Welcome!

I want to welcome you to my new blog.  I am an equine and animal artist.  I do pet and horse portraits but also enjoy doing more lively, abstract horse art. I often do these types of paintings in between the commission work because they are fun and keep me loosened up!  I have made it a goal for this year to explore this further so thats where this blog comes into place.  I will use this to post my more fun, abstract and expressive pieces that I do just because I like to!  These pieces are often for sale either at my studio, White Horse Studio in Canton Ohio or online.  I may put in paypal buttons here or just direct people to my web site at

If you have a particular color scheme in mind for this type of art please send  me an e-mail at .

Thanks for stopping by~
